Like every year, Nintendo is the final company to make major E3 announcements, and just like last year, the company is staying away from a traditional live press conference.

This year, the highlight of Nintendo's E3 announcements were a new, open-world styled Zelda game and a new brand 'Splatoon' which seems to be Nintendo's take on an online shooter.

Additionally, Nintendo announced an offcial name for it's Skylanders-style NFC toys: 'amiibo.' The amiibo will add functionality to multiple games, including Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart 8.

Nintendo also hinted at things that could be coming later in the show, including, perhaps, a new Star Fox game.

Here's what was announced in the show: Smash Bros will have Mii fighters Smash Bros will use NFC figures in some way NFC toys will be called 'amiibo' A gameplay look at Yoshi's Woolly World.
