Authorities said all available troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol were joined by Allen County Sheriff's deputies and local area law enforcement in establishing a perimeter and searching the area. A patrol helicopter with advanced infrared detection equipment was also deployed for the search.
Officials say the escape occurred during rec time and that Lane scaled a fence 100 feet from the main perimeter fence. The three inmates escaped using a makeshift ladder to scale the fence, according to authorities.
