Hot News: Five Reasons Why Carrie Underwood Will Make a Great Mom

The country music world is beyond excited about Carrie Underwood's pregnancy news - and we are, too!

And though we could give the superstar a whole bunch of parenting advice from pros like Brad and Keith, we have a feeling the singer already knows what she's doing.

Here's why:

She's supportive. A regular at hockey player husband Mike Fisher's games, Underwood is the biggest cheerleader - and likely will be for her little one, whether on the rink or in the spotlight.

She's kind-hearted. Underwood and Fisher spent a week in Haiti in June on a mission trip with Danita's Children, an organization that cares for orphaned and impoverished children. 'Such wonderful children & staff! I miss them,' she Tweeted after her trip.

She's had years of practice. Underwood is already mom to rat terrier Ace and dachshund mix Penny, who helped her break her baby news to the world - and she takes them on playdates with her A-list pals. 'We took them over to see Baker and Hobbs, Hillary Scott and her husband Chris Tyrrell's pups, but they were pretty naughty while we were there,' Underwood told PEOPLE Country earlier this year. 'Ace tried to mark their furniture and succeeded and Penny tried to rule the roost. All in all it wasn't the best playdate for the pups, but their parents had a great time!'

She has experience as a nanny, er, governess. Underwood starred as Maria von Trapp in the 2013 television special Sound of Music Live!. If she can handle seven children on live TV, she's got this!

She has the lullaby thing down. With Mom's talent and passion for singing, Underwood's lucky little one is sure to nod off to his or her own private concert every night. 'I love singing. To me there's nothing better ... It feels good,' Underwood has told PEOPLE Country. 'It makes me happy.'
