'The Big Bang Theory' may be a comedy, but that certainly doesn't stop the show from taking on some serious topics - such as feminism. On the Oct. 30, episode, Penny, Amy and Bernadette discuss female sexuality in the workplace - and of course they have very different viewpoints on the subject!
The Big Bang Theory returned to Thursday nights on Oct. 30, with a new episode, 'The Misinterpretation Agitation.' Billy Bob Thornton, 59, guest starred as creepy Dr. Lorvis who professed his love to Penny (Kaley Cuoco) while Amy (Mayim Bialik) and Brenadette ( Melissa Rauch) clash over if women can be both sexy and smart. Billy Bob Thornton 'Big Bang Theory' - Guest Stars As Dr. Lorvin
The Oct. 30, episode was a perfect combination of mixing in serious topics with a hilarious twist - something the show is known for and part of what makes it so wildly popular.
According to the , the topic of female sexuality began early in the episode when our three favorite ladies were chatting in Penny's apartment. Bernadette revealed that she had some big and exciting news - that she had been asked to be photographed for a spread about sexy scientists.
Clearly Bernadette is excited about the news and great opportunity as was Penny, but Amy was definitely less than thrilled the site reports - she wants her friend to be featured not just because she is beautiful because she is smart. She feels that all female scientists should be given the same opportunity - great point, Amy!
Penny then reveals that she flirts with doctors to help her sales pitch - cue Billy! Billy, who plays Dr. Lorvis then comes to Penny's apartment - with flowers in hand - and reveals his love for her.
Leonard ( John Galecki) then needs to explain that he and Penny are actually engaged - awkward alert! We applaud the show for taking on a risky subject and tackling it in an effective way that stays true to the shows roots. Take Our Poll'Big Bang Theory' Cast Signs $1M Per Episode Deal
