The pop world stole Taylor Swift.
So, not to be one-upped, the country universe snatched some of the biggest names in pop to perform at Wednesday night's Country Music Association Awards.
Meghan Trainor, whose 'All About That Bass' claimed the no. 1 spot for eight weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, teamed up with Miranda Lambert to perform the hit.
And Ariana Grande joined Little Big Town (fast forward to the 3:00 mark in the following video) after the country group's performance of 'Day Drinking' to duet on 'Bang Bang,' which is Grande's collaboration with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj.
It was a big night for Lambert and Little Big Town, who also performed 'Smokin' and Drinkin'' together. Lambert won Female Vocalist of the Year, Single of the Year ('Automatic'), Album of the Year ( Platinum) and Musical Event of the Year ('We Were Us' with Keith Urban). Little Big Town won Vocal Group of the Year.
The CMAs and Academy of Country Music Awards are no strangers to roping in pop stars.
Collaborative performances in past years, to name a few, include Carrie Underwood with Steven Tyler, Kelly Clarkson with Reba McIntyre and Stevie Wonder with Hunter Hayes. Have something to add to this story? Share it in the comments.
