Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP has confirmed that Ralph Lean, a well-connected business lawyer and political fundraiser, has joined the firm after a brief stint with Heenan Blaikie LLP.
Legal Post reported over the weekend that Mr. Lean would be moving to Gowlings as counsel. He left Heenan Blaikie after just eight months into a 36-month contract.
Mr. Lean had joined Heenan after 25 years with Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP.
"I'm looking forward to working with the team at Gowlings and hitting the ground running." Mr. Lean says.
"Ralph is a formidable business adviser, trusted problem solver and consummate deal maker," said Scott Jolliffe, Gowlings chair and chief executive. "He has a unique ability to forge connections that bridge the private and public sectors, finding practical, creative solutions that get things done."
