The first gold medal of the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi has been awarded, with American Sage Kotsenburg winning the men's snowboard slopestyle final.
Kotsenburg took the gold after posting a best score of 93.50 from his first run at the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park.
Norway's Staale Sandbech (91.75) won the silver medal and Canadian Mark McMorris (88.75) claimed the bronze.
