The NHL Playoffs are upon us and once again the Toronto Maple Leafs and their fans are on the outside looking in.
Now Leafs' fans are faced with a tough choice. Do they cheer for the only Canadian team to reach the NHL playoffs - The Montreal Canadiens?
According to data compiled by Facebook Canada, every province except for Manitoba, Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories are cheering for the Canadiens. Those provinces are backing the Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Fans in Toronto aren't convinced.
'It's pretty disgusting because as a Leaf fan you're not supposed to root for Montreal. I don't care about hockey playoffs if the leafs aren't in it,' said one fan.
Another was more succinct when asked if he will be cheering for the Habs.
'Never. I hate the Montreal Canadiens.'
Long time Leafs reporter Howard Berger of BergerBytes.ca probably sums it up best.
'Montreal has earned the right to be where it is, I don't think there is a true Leaf fan anywhere on earth that is happy about it.'
Montreal faces the Tampa Bay Lightning in round one. Plenty of room is still available on the bandwagon.
