The former Brazil striker Ronaldo congratulated Miroslav Klose after the German equalled his record of 15 World Cup goals on Saturday. Klose came on in the second half against Ghana and scored the equaliser in a thrilling 2-2 draw.
The 36-year-old German, playing in his fourth finals, scored a typically instinctive goal, prodding over the line from close range after Benedikt Höwedes had flicked on Tony Kroos's corner
'Welcome to the club,' Ronaldo tweeted. 'I can only imagine your happiness!!! What a great World Cup!!!'
Ronaldo scored four goals on route to the 1998 final defeat to hosts France as a 21-year-old, and fired in both goals to beat Klose's Germany side in the 2002 final in Yokohama.
However, injuries and fitness problems curtailed his international career and Germany 2006 was to be his final tournament, aged 30, where he scored three times.
