Being the savior of an entire region - the area where you grew up, no less - well, that's a burden that would buckle the knees of pretty much any athlete. Any athlete, that is, except LeBron James. The gigantic new banner outside the arena, the chills-inducing commercial Nike rolled out, the celebrities and fans who flocked to Cleveland on Thursday as if it was Game 7 of the NBA finals, the electricity that could have powered all of northeast Ohio - this is exactly what James envisioned when he decided to return. His homecoming is a mission, as much personal as it is professional. 'The roads, the buildings, the people,' James told USA TODAY Sports' Jeff Zillgitt on the eve of his return. 'They helped raised me.' Every athlete has a story of a community that helped him or her along the way, and every city has a favored athlete it considers one of its own. For James and northeast Ohio, however, it's one in the same, the two as tightly intertwined as family. The people of Akron and Cleveland have been in the bleachers since James was not much older than his own sons are now, watching with pride as he grew and developed the skills that have made him one of the greatest players of all time. In return, they gave shelter and support to the boy with the young, single mother, making sure he never went astray and, as the spotlight grew, protecting him from those who didn't have his best interests at heart. 'This city saved me from making the wrong turn,' James said. 'It gave me sports and it gave me mentors.' James has been generous in his gratitude, his devotion a rarity for such a big star. He made a promise when he left high school to never forget where he came from and, even when he was in Miami, he has made sure those were not empty words. His LeBron James Family Foundation runs hands-on programs to keep at-risk Akron kids stay in school. James is closely involved, leaving occasional voice messages for the kids and writing friendly notes each week - signed, 'Your friend, Mr. LeBron.' -- that include a subtle life lesson. He paid to renovate the gym at his old high school, St. Vincent-St. Mary, and has donated new uniforms for the sports teams. He has helped restore the clubhouses at Boys & Girls Clubs, including ones in Akron and Cleveland. And even when he played in Miami, his family's home remained outside of Akron. But for all the quiet good he's done, James' decision to return to Cleveland has sent the loudest message. As one of the world's best athletes and most famous people, he and his family could live anywhere. Yet he chose northeast Ohio. That seal of approval is a psychological boost as well as an economic one for a region still struggling to get back on its feet, and James is well aware of it. Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragons don't do concerts outside Quicken Loans Arena if not for James. Justin Bieber and David Beckham don't find their way to Cleveland if not for James. Check that -- could they even find Cleveland without James? The attention of pretty much every sports fan in the country isn't on Cleveland if not for James. No wonder he appeared overcome by emotion when he was introduced, tipping back his head at the words, 'From St. Vincent-St. Mary, Akron, Ohio,' as the arena erupted. 'My relationship with Northeast Ohio is bigger than basketball,' James wrote in his Sports Illustrated essay this summer announcing he was going back home after four years in Miami. 'I didn't realize that four years ago. I do now.' That he struggled in his first game back home -- he was just 5 of 15, with eight turnovers, in a 95-90 loss to the New York Knicks -- is merely a blip. Sure, James desperately wants to end Cleveland's 50-year drought in major sports championships, and his presence alone is enough to elevate the Cavaliers to contenders in the East. But the greater aim, the theme that runs through every interview and every commercial, is that, together, he and his city can do something extraordinary. Because this isn't just about basketball. It's personal. Hot News: Come Out, Come Out: The Tim Cook Moment Is Here

Me especially, since I am gay. And, like many, I had heard all the assumptions about the self-effacing exec's sexual orientation, even though he and I had never once discussed the issue. Still, I thought about asking him that very question once when Cook was sitting onstage with me and Walt Mossberg during our second interview at the D: All Things Digital conference in 2013. Cook, who does not give up much at all on any topic, was being typically evasive in answering some query about some Apple initiative, and it was frustrating. Because few people knew much about the new Apple CEO, who had long lived under the very deep shadow of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, I suddenly had an impulses to shake things up, and I wondered to myself what would happen if I asked Cook about his personal life. I thought I would start with a question many in the tech community seemed to have: What's it like to be the most powerful gay executive in the world? Not surprisingly, I immediately began to calculate the repercussions if I went there: Exactly how much flack would I get for outing him without his consent? Would he bolt from the stage once the word 'gay' came out of my mouth, or just sit like a deer in the headlights and say nothing? And, perhaps most importantly, what if he actually answered the question? And then, just as quickly, I thought: Would this just be a sandbagging grab for attention? Why exactly did I care? Did it matter to his job if he were public about his sexual preference? And, while it is always a good thing to have another iconic gay person be public, wasn't it his choice as to when that would happen? So I chickened out, and the moment passed, of course, without me asking the question onstage. But Cook finally answered it yesterday in Bloomberg Businessweek magazine, in perhaps the most epic coming-out essay I have ever seen. Why? Because it was non-apologetic and proud and bold in its assertions about his preference being 'a gift from God'; because it contained deft references to the fact that he was not just gay, but a 'son of the South' and a 'fitness nut'; and, perhaps most of all, because it explained clearly why giving up some bit of his much-cherished privacy to help others was now worth it to him. I would imagine there was a lot of thought that went into the post, and a lot of editing, too, of every single word, all carefully planned and edited. But what struck me the most was how close it hewed to the Tim Cook I had dealt with in the handful of instances we have met since he took over at Apple. More to the point, the essay - combined with the recent spate of well-received products and stellar financial results - represents not just a personal coming out for Cook, but also one for him as the leader of one of the most powerful tech companies in the world. As I said above, Cook has spent a lot of his life in a behind-the-scenes role as Mr. Smooth Operator to Jobs's Visionary Genius, and that has resulted in him being almost a complete cipher for the digerati in Silicon Valley. When he was hand-selected by Jobs as his heir to Apple's empire, the most interesting thing people could seem to come up with about him was that he sure as heck knew how to get those Chinese manufacturers in line. Otherwise, he eschewed the limelight during his first years, seeming to prefer to keep up that behind-the-scenes persona intact, despite the fact that he held the most high-profile job in Silicon Valley. This is in drastic contrast to everyone else in tech, who share - with great calculation, of course - quite a bit about their personal lives for the media. Google's Sergey Brin kite-surfs! Amazon's Jeff Bezos is a space nut! SpaceX and Tesla founder Elon Musk wants to die on Mars! Twitter's Dick Costolo was once a stand-up comic! Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg is taking Chinese lessons! Box's Aaron Levie sure is a funny tweeter! About Cook, nothing. Some dribs and drabs of information did emerge, although only slowly, and mostly around his executive style. Such as that he was perhaps more adept at politics than his placid exterior would seem at first glance when he managed to shove longtime (and dyspeptic) Apple exec and Jobs favorite Scott Forstall out of a job. That he was willing to admit mistakes more, as with poor retail hiring decisions, and offered much quicker than usual apologies on product snafus such as with Maps and, more recently, iOS updates. That he pushed for a slightly more open Apple, including showing off other execs more prominently at the company's annual events. Still, as a person he has largely been a blank slate that the media has projected upon, which is how he seemed to like it. That is, until recently, when more and more about his own personal traits have emerged well beyond the big revelation that he really liked to go to the gym and was there daily at 5 am to work out. And all of it seemed to point to the direction of him finally talking about his being a gay man. In a speech at Auburn University, his alma mater, at the end of last year, he spoke on the issue of human rights, and added his own experience to the mix: 'Since these early days, I have seen and have experienced many types of discrimination, and all of them were rooted in the fear of people that were different than the majority.' When he said that, I was struck by it immediately, and thought: He's going to come out soon. It's hard to explain to someone who has not had to come out what prompts that feeling, after living in the closet for a lifetime. While everyone searched yesterday for some kind of dramatic reason for the Cook declaration, it's a fairly simple equation, even if you are out to friends, co-workers and family, as Cook apparently has been: You get tired of lying. You get tired of hiding. You get tired of not saying. I remember my own series of outing myself moments in my twenties, after I got weary of playing idiotic cat-and-mouse games with my mother. She knew I was gay, but never addressed it, despite growing tension between us about the issue. I vowed that when she asked me directly, I would tell her, flat-out. She did and I did and, as ugly as the ensuing months were between us, it was a moment of profound relief for me and her. In late June, Cook seemed to be moving to that very conclusion by showing up at San Francisco's Gay Pride parade, wearing an Apple Pride T-shirt and selfie-posing with employees who were marching. That came after CNBC host Simon Hobbs said out loud on the air what everyone talked about more quietly. 'I think Tim Cook is fairly open about the fact that he is gay,' declared Hobbs, to dead silence from the panel. 'Oh, dear, was that an error? I thought he was open about it.' No, not so much. Except he was starting to emerge from his self-imposed cocoon, posing for a fun cover for Bloomberg Businessweek magazine, and doing a series of photos of him kicking back casually on Apple's campus. Noted the magazine, as if they were doing a profile of George Clooney: 'A decade ago, when he first became a public figure, Cook, now 53, was often caricatured as Jobs's logical, icy sidekick-the Spock to his Kirk. In person, Cook defies those expectations. He bounds toward Apple employees, posing for on-campus selfies and answering every question regardless of the holes it eats into his schedule. He can also be quite emotional about a range of subjects close to his heart, from Auburn University football to social justice.' It even ended with a coincidentally - or not? - evocative image of Cook at its Sept. 9 event, listening to a OneRepublic song, 'I Lived,' on his iPhone, and quoting the lyrics: 'Hope when you take that jump, you don't fear the fall/Hope when the crowd screams out, they're screaming your name.' Well, if that was not a different kind of coming out, I don't know what was. He followed the cover with two big Apple events, unveiling new products created completely under his leadership - the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, the Apple Watch, and more. Then, last week, Cook's Apple blew past all Wall Street expectations with a quarterly report that showed huge momentum across the entire company. With his CEO status now as firm as it has ever been, and the company pretty unassailable, Cook seemed completely ready, criticizing his home state of Alabama in a speech there about its failures in the civil rights arena. 'As a state, we took too long to step toward equality,' he said. 'We were too slow on equality for African-Americans. We were too slow on interracial marriage, and we are still too slow for the equality for the LGBT community.' That was this past Monday. At a dinner I attended earlier this week, what he said came up in conversation, and someone wondered what he was up to. With no idea about what he was about to do, I had only one response: 'I think we are finally about to meet the real Tim Cook.' And, while we might have known it all along about him, it's nice to finally be able to say hello to the entire man. He also rescinded a declaration of martial law, made only hours earlier, and abandoned plans to change the Constitution in order to permit him to extend his 27-year tenure in this impoverished West African nation. Opposition to the president's plans for another term had been building for weeks. Anger exploded Thursday as protesters stormed the Parliament building, bursting past police lines to prevent lawmakers from voting on a draft law that would have allowed Mr. Compaoré to run again next year. It was unclear early on Friday whether the president's offer of negotiations would avert another day of protests representing the most serious challenge to his authority since he seized power in a military coup in 1987. Hundreds of protesters gathered in central Ouagadougou, the capital, on Friday, and the opposition promised to offer its response to the president's move at a news conference. Difficile à croire, mais l'épisode 5 de la saison 11 de Grey's Anatomy mettait le point d'orgue à l'une des histoires d'amour les plus incontournables de la série médicale. Et s'il est toujours compliqué d'accepter les choix de l'impitoyable Shonda Rhimes, c'est pourtant loin d'être la première fois que la créatrice de la série s'adonne à l'écriture de ces storylines déchirantes. En onze saisons, Grey's Anatomy a en effet vu naître, évoluer et se déchirer des dizaines de paires, dont certaines restent davantage dans le cœur des fans que d'autres. Et en ce vendredi dépourvu d'épisode de Grey's Anatomy, melty.fr vous propose donc de revenir sur les histoires d'amour les plus passionnantes et regrettées de la série médicale. De Izzex à Heddy, retour sur les couples inoubliables de l'histoire du Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Teddy et Henry Aussi connus sous le pseudonyme Heddy, Teddy et Henry se sont rencontrés au cours de la septième saison, alors qu'Henry Burton, atteint de la maladie de Von Hippel-Lindau, était hospitalisé au sein du service de Richard Webber. Suite à l'expiration de l'assurance maladie d'Henry, Teddy lui propose de l'épouser pour qu'il puisse bénéficier de la sienne, un acte qui donnera le coup d'envoi à l'une des histoires d'amour les plus tragiques de l'histoire de la série. Amis puis amants, Henry et Teddy ont su gagner le cœur des fans au fil des épisodes jusqu'à la mort tragique d'Henry au cours d'une opération menée par Cristina. Un décès survenu alors que Yang, elle-même, ignorait l'identité du patient, de quoi offrir au personnage de Scott Foley une sortie digne de son personnage. La saison 8 marquait d'ailleurs le départ de Teddy (Kim Raver) qui, de toute façon, n'avait plus aucun avenir dans la série en l'absence de son mari. George et Izzie Leur histoire d'amour n'aura duré que quelques épisodes mouvementés, mais la relation de George et Izzie a véritablement sa place dans cette liste. Certes, Gizzie reste le couple quelque peu ' WTF ' de Grey's Anatomy, mais il ne fait aucun doute que les sentiments partagés par les deux personnages ont véritablement donné un bon lot de scènes gênantes, hilarantes, touchantes... Ou tout simplement inoubliables. Nous retenons bien évidemment davantage leur indéfectible relation d'amitié, mais la courte romance survenue au cours de la saison 4 reste dans les annales de la série médicale. Owen et Cristina Leur couple était condamné avant même qu'ils ne se soient rencontrés, mais ils nous ont offert cinq saisons de rires, de larmes et de passion dévorante l'un pour l'autre. Owen et Cristina, également appelés Crowen, sont le couple le plus instable et passionnel de Grey's Anatomy. Une rencontre, un mariage, un crash d'avion, une rupture et des heures et des heures de sexe, Owen et Cristina ont tout traversé en sachant que la vie finirait par les séparer. Il voulait une famille, elle voulait sa liberté, ils ont fini par se séparer. Difficile pour le moment de savoir où Shonda Rhimes mènera Owen dans la suite de la série mais une chose est certaine. Il sera difficile, si ce n'est impossible, de trouver pour le docteur Hunt un nouveau médecin à la hauteur de l'irremplaçable Cristina Yang. Izzie et Alex Nous pensions qu'ils resteraient toujours ensemble... Mais ils ont, eux aussi, fini par être séparés. Alex et Izzie, tout deux membres de la première génération d'internes, représentent certainement tout ce qui a toujours fait le succès de Grey's Anatomy. De leur rencontre à leur séparation, en passant par leurs disputes, leur mariage inoubliable et l'épreuve insurmontable qu'ils ont traversé lors de la maladie d'Izzie, Izzex ont certainement vécu l'une des plus belles histoires d'amour de l'histoire de la série. Leur séparation malheureusement bâclée et l'arrivée de l'adorable Jo Wilson au sein du Grey Sloan Memorial nous ont prouvé par la suite qu'Alex et Izzie n'étaient pas fait pour vivre happily ever after, mais ils sont et resteront la romance la plus mignonne, fusionnelle et passionnelle de l'histoire de la série médicale. Mark et LexieMark et Lexie, une romance inoubliable. Difficile de savoir si l'on a gardé le meilleur ou le pire pour la fin. Une chose est certaine, Mark et Lexie représentent certainement le couple au destin le plus tragique de Grey's Anatomy. Ils se sont aimés, déchirés, puis aimés à nouveau jusqu'à ce fameux season finale les ayant, eux, séparés l'un de l'autre, mais ayant aussi privé les fans de deux des personnages les plus séduisants et incontournables du show télévisé. ' Je t'ai toujours aimé. Je t'aimerai toujours, c'est pourquoi tu dois rester en vie. Nous allons nous marier, tu seras un superbe chirurgien. On aura des enfants. On aura une vie merveilleuse, toi et moi. Tu ne peux pas mourir parce qu'on est supposés finir ensemble. On est faits l'un pour l'autre. ' Faits l'un pour l'autre, c'est une certitude, mais dans un autre monde. Au final, Mark et Lexie se sont offerts l'issue la plus définitive et bouleversante de la série, faisant de leur romance la plus touchante et mémorable de la série médicale. Malheureusement sans eux, la saison 11 de Grey's Anatomy se poursuit le 6 novembre prochain avec l'épisode 6, dont est d'ores et déjà disponible la vidéo promotionnelle. Here are a few cheap and celebrity-themed costumes that you can wear in a pinch with little to no effort on your end. Kim Kardashian: Wear your tightest outfit, slick back your hair, slather on contouring makeup and affect a perma-pout. Done! Don't have a skin-tight white dress? Just throw on, you know, some Under Armour and double-stuff your bra. Adopt a nasally tone, hold your arm at selfies'-length reach, take photos with the most popular people at the party and post the most flattering ones ASAP. People might not be able to tell you've done something different at first, but they'll talk about it the whole party. 'Single Ladies'-era is the easy and recognizable: black unitard, voluminous half-ponytail, foil wrapped around one arm to imitate a robotic hand). Pharrell: Two different options on wardrobe - either a blazer/button-up/shorts or oversized T-shirt/jeans - but the key thing is finding that oversized Arby's hat and rocking it accordingly. Sing 'Happy' so that everyone knows who you are, but then keep singing it until everyone is annoyed to truly sell the costume. The dam has seemingly broken on former CBC star Jian Ghomeshi. Earlier in the week, I withheld judgment based, in part, on the limitations of the available information.I can't do that anymore. By Wednesday, a total of eight women had come forward to claim that Ghomeshi had abused them in some way - by choking them, punching them or else laying a hand on them in any other number of unwelcome ways. One of these women - actress Lucy DeCoutere of Trailer Park Boys bravely put her name to the allegations, telling the Toronto Star that Ghomeshi choked her to the point that she couldn't breathe and slapped her three times on the side of the head. Another woman, in a radio interview with CBC's Carol Off, told a similar story: '[He] threw me on the ground and started closed-fist pounding me in the head, repeatedly, until my ears were ringing. And I started to cry.' It is this consistent pattern that, for me, gives credence to the accusers' stories. Eight women, ostensibly strangers, echo the same chilling pattern. Continue reading... There is no open investigation because the force has yet to hear from any of the women who have spoken in the media, the outgoing police chief told reporters as he exited an unrelated news conference at police headquarters. 'People may be reluctant to report their victimization and to participate in a criminal investigation or the criminal justice system,' he said. 'Our first priority is their safety and their recovery and the protection of others. In addition to that, we are quite prepared to conduct a criminal investigation should they come forward with their complaint.' But that is the key, he said. 'When these crimes are committed, we need a complainant, we need someone to come forward and say 'this is what's happened to me,' and we will investigate that.' The question repeatedly asked this week is 'Why wouldn't these women go to the police?' The answer is both uncomfortable and complex and one law enforcement and activists have been trying to address in recent years. In her account 'Why I Can't Remain Silent About What Jian Did To Me,' published around 5 p.m. Thursday on the Huffington Post Canada site (making her the second to attach her name to her story), Toronto author and lawyer Reva Seth explained why she didn't want to go to police. 'I hadn't been raped. I had no interest in seeing him again or engaging the police in my life. I just wanted to continue on with my life as it was. And even if I had wanted to do something, as a lawyer, I well aware that the scenario was just a 'he said/she said' situation,' she wrote. 'I was aware that I, as a woman who had had a drink or two, shared a joint, had gone to his house willingly and had a sexual past, would be eviscerated. Cultural frameworks on this are powerful. Equally important, however, was that it also didn't feel like it was worth my effort.' It often is a he-said-she-said scenario in cases of sexual assault because - especially in cases of date rape - the alleged attacker will be careful to ensure they are alone, said Sgt. Trish Ferguson of the Ottawa Police sexual assault unit. The officers do need to investigate both sides, and a statement is the best evidence they have, as Toronto Chief Blair also said Thursday. They will ask what led up to the incident, if there are any text messages, emails, did anyone hear or see anything from nearby. She said her police force has taken a 'progressive' approach to helping victims of sexual assault, making sure they are supported and that they know they have options. 'If you are a victim of a sexual assault it doesn't mean you have to go to court,' she said. 'There are four levels of response.' The first is not doing anything at all. The second is to report the crime, but not pursue charges - just make sure police are aware of it so they can watch for patterns or put out warnings in certain areas. The third option is to report the assault but have police pay the alleged attacker a visit, and put a warning in their system. In this case, police will also get the other party's side of the story, she said. The fourth approach is to report the attack and pursue charges. If I were smart, I'd just shut up and stand by as the mob carries off Jian Ghomeshi to what increasingly appears may be his right and proper fate. I don't even know the guy. Let's talk about your drug use. Did you take cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy? How much?' or 'You sent quite a collection of nude photos to my client, didn't you? Here they all are, every one,' or 'You didn't report this to the police immediately, did you? Nor do you have any photos of bruises or marks.' 'The cross-examination questions have this impact for women because they touch the deep ingrained chords of shame that are part of every girl's upbringing,' she wrote in an email to the National Post. She supports the Ottawa Police approach (now widely used in Canada) of giving victims the option not to pursue charges. 'A lot of women would do this simply to flag someone as a means of protecting other women,' she wrote. 'It can also introduce them gently to the concept of pursuing charges, and if an offender is on the police radar, complainants can be encouraged by knowing they are not alone.' Hot News: Apple Chief Tim Cook's Coming Out: 'This Will Resonate'

But Mr. Cook isn't just any chief executive. And Apple isn't any company. It's one of the most profitable companies in the Fortune 500 and ranks No. 1 on the magazine's annual ranking of the most admired companies. As Lloyd Blankfein, the chief executive of Goldman Sachs, put it, 'He's chief executive of the Fortune One. Something has consequences because of who does it, and this is Tim Cook and Apple. This will resonate powerfully.' Trevor Burgess, the openly gay chief executive of C1 Financial in Florida, and one of the first publicly gay chief executives of a public company, said Tim Cook used 'the metaphor of laying a brick on the 'path towards justice.' ' But, 'This is more like 600 million bricks,' Mr. Burgess said. 'He has the most influential voice in global business.' Given widespread rumors that he was gay, including being ranked No. 1 on Out magazine's list of the most powerful gay people last year, the fact that Mr. Cook is gay is less surprising than his willingness to publicly acknowledge and embrace it. He certainly made the announcement from a position of strength: Apple just completed the most successful product introductions in its history, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and reported record cash flow earlier this month. Apple's latest fiscal year 'was one for the record books,' Mr. Cook told investors. Mr. Cook has survived the intense glare of attention since succeeding Apple's legendary founder, Steve Jobs, in 2011. Still, Mr. Cook was plainly reluctant, and, as he put it in his essay in Bloomberg Businessweek, 'I don't seek to draw attention to myself.' But, he wrote, he came to the realization that 'If hearing that the C.E.O. of Apple is gay can help someone struggling to come to terms with who he or she is, or bring comfort to anyone who feels alone, or inspire people to insist on their equality, then it's worth the trade-off with my own privacy.' Although Mr. Cook and Mr. Blankfein are professionally close (they were together in China last week), and Mr. Blankfein has publicly championed gay rights, they had never discussed Mr. Cook's sexual orientation. 'I don't talk about my sexual predilections, and if anybody asked it would be jarring,' Mr. Blankfein said. 'No one owes the public such a deep view of his personal life. People underestimate how hard this is. But someone had to be first. For Tim, this was a commitment to make life easier and better for others. It was a generous and courageous thing to do.' It's also something that was 'unthinkable' when Allan Gilmour was chief financial officer and a board member at Ford, Mr. Gilmour said. 'Companies didn't want controversial executives,' he recalled. As a gay man, he kept his own sexual orientation a closely guarded secret, he said, but there were rumors. He was single and had never married. He retired in 1995 at age 60 after he was twice passed over for the top job. Mr. Cook's announcement is 'historic and it's wonderful,' Mr. Gilmour said. Progress 'has been erratic, but it's major.' Mr. Gilmour came out to a local newspaper in 1996, returned for a stint as the openly gay vice chairman at Ford, and served as president of Wayne State University and on numerous corporate boards. He recently married his partner, Eric Jirgens, in Vermont. On Thursday, he sent Mr. Cook an email thanking him for his 'courage and leadership.' He added: 'I found, after I outed myself in a poorly planned interview, that my life had a new, and wonderful, dimension. I didn't have to dissemble, lie, exaggerate, change the subject, etc. I was what I was.' Richard L. Zweigenhaft, co-author of 'Diversity in the Power Elite: How It Happened, Why it Matters' and a psychology professor at Guilford College in North Carolina, who has closely tracked the progress of minorities in business, said Mr. Cook's announcement gave him 'the same feeling that I had back in 1998, when many were speculating about when the first African-American would be appointed a Fortune-level chief executive and who it would be.' There were two named in 1999 - Franklin D. Raines at Fannie Mae and Lloyd Ward at Maytag. By 2005, there were seven more African-American chief executives at Fortune 500 companies. 'Those first appointments really opened the gates,' Professor Zweigenhaft said. 'It was like the car went from zero to 60 in 10 seconds.' But since then, progress has stalled, and there are no more African-American chief executives today than there were in 2005. Professor Zweigenhaft noted that unlike African-Americans, women and Hispanics, for gay men and lesbians, 'There's the issue of self-disclosure - they may choose not to publicly disclose their sexual orientation.' That may be one reason it has taken so long for a chief executive of a Fortune 500 company to come out publicly as gay since doing so may distract from the company and its products. 'Your mission at Ford was to serve the company,' Mr. Gilmour said. 'It wasn't to draw attention to yourself. It wasn't about self-realization.' This was evidently a consideration for Mr. Cook. In his essay, he said, 'I like keeping the focus on our products and the incredible things our customers achieve with them.' Mr. Cook told Josh Tyrangiel, senior executive editor at Bloomberg, that he had sought and obtained the approval of Apple's board before making the announcement, Mr. Tyrangiel said on Bloomberg Television. Mr. Blankfein sent an internal memo on Thursday to Goldman Sachs employees, praising Mr. Cook's 'eloquent' statement and stressing 'the importance of a workplace that celebrates and embraces people's differences.' But he acknowledged in an interview: 'There are still pockets of resistance. There's still gender discrimination, and we're still dealing with racial issues. I'm not sure we can say the battle has been won. But I think people are pretty confident how the battle will end. It's amazing how much progress has been made and how fast.' Todd Sears, the founder of Out on the Street, which promotes gay and lesbian leadership in the financial industry, and who has been encouraging gay chief executives to come out, said Mr. Cook's statement might have even more impact outside the United States. 'Sixty percent of Apple's sales are outside the United States,' he said. 'People love Apple products. It's the biggest company on the globe. There are 78 countries where being gay is illegal, and in a third of those, it's punishable by death. What are those countries going to do when Tim Cook comes to visit?' Mr. Cook's statement also seemed carefully drafted to be inclusive, to embrace anyone who feels different or excluded, which could broaden its impact far beyond the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities. Mr. Cook was 'wonderfully candid about why it was difficult for him to come out,' said Kenji Yoshino, professor of constitutional law at New York University and co-author of 'Uncovering Talent: a New Model for Inclusion.' 'When I give presentations on diversity and inclusion in organizations, I often start by noting that of the Fortune 500 C.E.O.s, 5 percent are women, 1 percent are black and 0 percent are openly gay.' Earlier, demonstrators angered by his bid to extend his 27-year rule torched parliament and government buildings. Mr Compaore said he would hand over power once the transitional government had completed its term. He also said he was lifting a 'state of siege' he had declared earlier. In the previous announcement, Mr Compaore called for the military to implement emergency measures. This was followed by a press conference where army chief Gen Honore Traore announced that a 'transitional body [would] be put in place in consultation with all parties'. 'A return to the constitutional order is expected in no more than 12 months,' he said. Analysis: Thomas Fessy, BBC West Africa correspondent The president said he was ready to open a political dialogue to set the terms of a transitional government that he would lead until the next presidential election. His current term ends in November next year, so staying in power now would be legal. But would he be legitimate? Opposition leaders and protesters say no. They want him to step down now. President Compaore appeared to want to calm things down but he spoke like a man who still wants to decide when he goes. That could be the recipe for more unrest. However, the general did not spell out who would lead the interim administration. He also declared the imposition of an overnight curfew, as well as the dissolution of parliament. In a message broadcast by a local TV station after the general's statement, Mr Compaore said he welcomed the military's 'patriotic action'. He said he would hand over power to a democratically elected government after the transitional administration had completed its term. He added that he was withdrawing a controversial law that would enable him to seek another term in office. His plan to seek re-election triggered demonstrations in the capital, Ouagadougou. The protests are the most serious yet against Mr Compaore's rule. The main opposition leader, Zephirin Diabre, had told a local radio station the state of emergency was unacceptable. 'We are calling on the people to show that they are against it,' he was quoted as saying. 'The resignation of President Blaise Compaore is the only thing that can bring peace to the country.' At least one person has been killed in the protests, says BBC Afrique's Yacouba Ouedraogo in the capital. Mr Diabre said dozens of protesters had been killed across the country by the security forces in a 'barbaric escalation of violence'. The military fired live bullets to try to disperse protesters who had occupied parliament, our correspondent says. 'The back story on it is pretty simple,' Businessweek's editor, Josh Tyrangiel, said in an interview on Bloomberg TV. 'He called and asked, 'If I could come out.' ' Mr. Tyrangiel said that the essay, which appeared on the Businessweek website on Thursday morning, was 'not precipitated by any event, it's not a reaction to anything,' but rather was something 'he has been thinking about for a while.' Businessweek and Mr. Cook have forged what seems to be a close relationship. Mr. Cook was on Businessweek's cover in September for an article about how he was putting his own stamp on Apple three years after its co-founder Steve Jobs's death; the piece didn't delve into Mr. Cook's private life other than to say that he could become 'quite emotional about a range of subjects close to his heart, from Auburn University football to social justice.' In addition to the September feature, the magazine ran a cover piece on Mr. Cook and Apple last year. For the latest article, a Bloomberg spokeswoman said, Mr. Cook and Mr. Tyrangiel agreed that Mr. Cook should not be on the cover. Earlier this year, two CEOs of publicly traded - yet much smaller - firms came out. But until Tim Cook's statement, 'don't ask, don't tell' reigned at the highest echelons of corporate America - almost shocking in 2014, given that 91% of Fortune 500 firms prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation. As Cook notes, Apple has long taken a corporate stand in support of LGBT rights and has spoken up against discriminatory laws. But his announcement gives new heft to their commitment. Cook's sexuality was long an open secret; as he acknowledges, 'For years, I've been open with many people about my sexual orientation. Plenty of colleagues at Apple know I'm gay, and it doesn't seem to make a difference in the way they treat me.' But it creates a sort of cognitive dissonance when a company is advocating for equality, yet its leader remains publicly quiet about his own identity. Cook's new openness shows that Apple is walking its talk on diversity - positioning them even more favorably in the never-ending Silicon Valley talent wars. It's also likely to make him a more effective CEO. As Sylvia Ann Hewlett and Karen Sumberg reported in the Harvard Business Review, despite fears to the contrary, being out in the workplace actually has significant advantages - notably, that workers can concentrate on excelling at their jobs, and not 'managing' their identity. (And remember, there are still 29 states where it's legal to fire someone because they are gay.) Indeed, even for those like Tim Cook, who was out to colleagues but not to 'the world' at large, the stress of downplaying one's identity can take a toll. Research by the Deloitte University Leadership Center for Inclusion showed that 83% of gay employees 'covered' at work - i.e., even if they were technically out, they still felt the need to minimize their differences by, for instance, not bringing their partner to work functions, or not displaying family photographs at the office. Cook's coming out demonstrates powerfully to executives at Apple - and elsewhere in the corporate world - that covering is no longer required to succeed at the top. 'I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me,' says Cook, because it's increased his empathy toward others and helped him learn to follow his own path - an important asset in a company that prizes innovation and built its brand on the strength of breakthrough ideas such as the iPhone. 'We'll continue to fight for our values,' he says, 'and I believe that any CEO of this incredible company, regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation, would do the same.' Previously I owned a TG-1 and later a TG-2. Between both, there was not much practical difference other than the high speed video and a more flexible macro mode. But TG-3 is several steps above TG-2 with the new sensor and ridiculously superb microscope mode. The level of magnification and clarity is just out of the world. Now, I do a lot of macro work on DSLR and OM-D, owning 2 macro lenses but TG-3 put it into another level in terms of magnification. Macro junkies will definitely going to love this. Another thing I love is the auto image stacking. Once I got the camera I didn't even bother to put it on a tripod. I just parked my hand on a desk and hold the camera steady while it takes several successive shots. The result is very pleasing although it may not compete against manually stacked images using DSLR. It's fun though and easy to use. Best of all I can share it immediately via smartphone. I am going to mass produce stacked images into instagram soon. The wifi capability is easy to connect but with my Galaxy Note 3 I have to disable my mobile data otherwise the wifi cannot connect properly. Once it is connected, data transfer is seamless and stable. The app in android is a bit cumbersome to select multiple images so I hope Olympus can improve this soon. If you want to fully utilize the microscope mode, get the ring light reflector add-on. It really helps to give even lighting and you can just place the camera face down on the subject. I could see individual pixels from my Note 3 which is over 300ppi. Image quality is excellent for a waterproof compact. It uses the same lens as TG-1 and TG-2 which is a bit disappointing but then that helps to keep the price low. The lens is already an excellent f2! I find the grip to feel much better but the zoom toggle is a bit weirdly place, perhaps time will make me more accustomed to that. Other controls are well placed. I have yet to explore other functions but from the limited time I have to play with it, I did not regret selling off the TG-2. Haven't yet dunk it at the beach but from my excellent experience with TG-1 and TG-2, I suppose this boy is just as good if not better in terms of waterproofing. It's worth the upgrade. For anyone looking for waterproof compact, give this a serious consideration. I will put a more in-depth review soon in zuikoholics.</div> </div>

The questions typically had an angry or accusatory tone to them, like I was participating in some conspiracy or cover-up. Now that Cook himself has addressed the issue, I thought I would too. First of all, I didn't know he was gay. I never asked, and he never said. The reason I never asked is that, at least professionally speaking, I wasn't interested. I never saw one shred of evidence that Cook's sexual preference had any impact on his job as chief operating officer and then chief executive of Apple. Personally, I find all sorts of things interesting about people. I'm interested-and I assume readers are too-about where executives live, where they're from, what they studied, what their hobbies are, who they're married to and so on. I covered a fair amount of that in my profile, calling Cook 'intensely private' and a 'fitness nut,' an expression he too used in his essay Thursday. The closest I came to addressing Cook's personal life and potential sexual orientation was in the following passage and a comment from a classmate at Auburn: While a select group can claim to understand Cook at work, almost nobody claims to know much about his life outside Apple. A lifelong bachelor, he lives in a rented house in Palo Alto, vacations in places like Yosemite and Zion national parks, and shows few visible signs of wealth despite having sold more than $100 million of Apple stock over the years. He's known for being the first in and last out of the office and for his grinding international travel schedule, and when he isn't working he tends to be in the gym, on a hiking trail, or riding his bike. The classmate, a woman who clearly enjoyed being one of Auburn's few female engineering students, told me: 'Tim's just not a real social person. He's not antisocial, either. He just never seemed that interested in other people. I'm a hugger and a kisser, but I'd never feel comfortable giving Tim a hug or a kiss.' These insights into Cook's personality seemed relevant at the time as a means to informing readers about what kind of businessman Cook was. I'd heard the rumors that he was gay, of course. I just didn't particularly care. If you're going to do business with the guy, his manner is of great interest. How he behaves in private just isn't. I do recall, however, having a passionate conversation six years ago with a friend and source, the CEO of a startup company who is in Apple's orbit. The executive, who is gay and a couple of decades younger than Cook, told me how helpful it would be to other young men and women, especially in still-homophobic places like Alabama, if Cook would come out. In San Francisco or New York, he told me, being gay is so accepted that there's not much to talk about. As far as these things go, such cities and communities are easy places to be who you want to be. But it's not so everywhere, and Cook could have an impact in those parts of the world. This week I began to wonder when Cook would abandon his privacy. Earlier in the year he had marched with other Apple employees in San Francisco's gay pride parade. This week he chastised his native state for not doing more to make gays and others feel welcome. With his public statement Thursday he closed the loop and specifically made the point about how his gesture could help others. This will very likely be an 'Anderson Cooper moment' for Cook. Everyone who cared that he was gay already knew. I suspect there won't be much discussion about it once the news cycle passes. Cook, famously demanding with employees and a tough negotiator with suppliers, likely won't be any less demanding just because he has shared with the public a previously private part of his life. At least two of them knew that not long before, the interviewee allegedly has been thrown against a hotel room wall and fondled forcefully against her will. According to her statement to the Toronto Star, she performed fellatio 'just to get out of there' and ended up leaving the hotel room crying. Then, sometime later - perhaps days, or a couple weeks - she sat across from the man she now accuses, along with his executive producer and interviewed for what was, or had been, her dream job. At least two of them in the interview knew, but somewhere else in the building, there had to be more who, at one time or another, suspected something was amiss. The allegations go back as far as 2002. Of the eight women who have come forward with the stunning allegations to the media, only Trailer Park Boys actress Lucy DeCoutere has been named. Two journalists working on the story for the Toronto Star, investigative reporter Kevin Donovan and freelance writer Jesse Brown, have said more allegations are on their way. In a statement on Facebook Thursday, Ghomeshi said that he will 'directly' respond to the allegations but would not be making any comments to the media. He declined to say how he would be responding to the allegations. A timeline of events: Friday, Oct. 24: It learned that Ghomeshi would be taking an 'undetermined leave' from his role as host of CBC Radio's flagship show Q. Ghomeshi tweets that he 'some much needed personal time.' It is speculated to be relation to the recent death of his father, but Canadaland's Jesse Brown said there is 'much more' to the story and it was unrelated to his father's death. Sunday, Oct. 26: The CBC announces it is parting way with Ghomeshi after it received 'information' on radio host. The public broadcaster does not say what the information was. 'This decision was not made without serious deliberation and careful consideration. Jian has made an immense contribution to the CBC and we wish him well,' the CBC said in a statement. Hours later, lawyers for Ghomeshi say they plan to sue CBC for $55-million. It is learned Ghomeshi has hired Navigator, a 'high-stakes public strategy and communications firm' best known for its work for former Ontario attorney-general Michael Bryant. Ghomeshi then releases a 1500-word statement on his Facebook account, saying the CBC fired him for his 'private life.' He compared his private sex life to a 'a mild form of Fifty Shades of Grey,' a 2011 bestseller that depicted bondage, discipline and the infliction of pain, and dismissed the accusations as a 'campaign of false allegations pursued by a jilted ex girlfriend.' 'I knew they were going to win. It's the Giants. They do this all the time,' San Francisco native Barbra Norris, 54, said of the team's odds-defying win in an away game played the night after a crushing shutout in Kansas City. But in some areas, the atmosphere grew rowdier as the night wore on. Violence left three people injured in separate incidents, two by gunshots and one in a stabbing, police spokesman officer Gordon Shyy said. The gunshot victims' wounds were not life threatening, but he didn't have information on the stabbing. Officers struck with bottles Shortly after the celebrating began, Shyy said officers made 'a handful of arrests' as fans filled the streets and blocked traffic around the Civic Center, in the Mission District and on Market Street within walking distance of AT&T Park. No updated arrest figure was available later. 'Police personnel were assaulted with bottles on Market Street and Mission district. Officers in the Southern district were also struck with bottles,' Shyy said. 'These objects were thrown at officers as they attempted to disperse crowds and assist firefighters extinguish bonfires.' Shyy said multiple officers suffered minor injuries, but did not provide an exact number. He also said one was treated at a hospital for injuries. The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the region around Third and King streets was especially raucous with thousands of fans spraying beer on one another, smashing bottles, lighting fires and setting off fireworks. That prompted police in riot gear to move in and set up a perimeter. The paper said that at one point riot police lined up three rows deep, prompting some people to hurl bottles, some shattering on the street and others hitting cringing officers. The wild street scenes lasted into the early hours Thursday. Shyy said crowds were still in the streets in some areas and stoking bonfires shortly after midnight, prompting officers to continue efforts to clear the areas. But by 1:30 a.m. PT, he said that the crowds for the most part had dispersed. Outdoor viewing peaceful Earlier in the evening, across from San Francisco City Hall, where the exterior lights had been glowing orange all week, more than 9,000 people gathered in an outdoor plaza where the city had set up a Jumbotron and a vendor sold hot dogs but no beer. 'You come out here to feel the pulse of the city. When it's the 7th game, you want to get the vibe,' Geoff Goselin, 61, said as he watched the game through the branches of sycamore trees that partly obscured the giant screen. The diverse crowd sang 'Let's Go, Giants' whenever their counterparts 2,800 km away rooted for the home team and chanted a prophetic 'MVP' whenever Giants ace Madison Bumgarner took the mound. Orbital Sciences Corp.'s Antares rocket blew up over the launch complex at Wallops Island, Virginia, just six seconds after liftoff. The company said everyone at the launch site had been accounted for, and the damage appeared to be limited to the facilities. Flames could be seen shooting into the sky as the sun set. 'Maintain your consoles,' Orbital Sciences' Mission Control informed the roomful of engineers and technicians. All data were being collected for use in the ensuing investigation. The Cygnus cargo ship was loaded with 2,268 kilograms of experiments and equipment for the six people living on the space station. It was the fourth Cygnus bound for the orbiting lab; the first flew just over a year ago. NASA spokesman Rob Navias said there was nothing urgently needed by the space station crew on that flight. In fact, the Russian Space Agency was proceeding with its own supply run on Wednesday. NASA is paying the Virginia-based Orbital Sciences and the California-based SpaceX company to keep the space station stocked in the post-shuttle era. Until Tuesday, all of the companies' missions had been near-flawless and the accident was sure to draw criticism in Washington. Last season's franchise record 48 wins and a decision to keep the core of the roster intact makes Toronto the easy favourite in the Atlantic Division and a home playoff series in the first round is expected. Fans may even dare to dream about more than that with Miami and Indiana weakened, Brooklyn aging and most of the rest either spinning their wheels or taking the wheels off in an effort to collect lottery ping-ping balls. Here, then, are 10 questions concerning the outlook for the 20th season of Raptors basketball. The Post Panel Eric Koreen () is the National Post's basketball reporter. Holly MacKenzie (@stackmack) is a writer for Raptors.com and chronicles the NBA for various sites and publications. Blake Murphy (@blakemurphyodc) is a writer for ESPN-affiliated Raptors Republic, and is an NBA news editor at theScore. Alex Wong (@steven_lebron) is co-editor of SB Nation-affiliated Raptors HQ and writes about the NBA for various sites and publications. 1. Do you believe in the merits of chemistry as much as Masai Ujiri, who barely altered last year's team? Koreen: No, but I don't believe any of the deals handed out this summer are particularly bad. Next summer, when three starters could be due for a raise, will be the real test of what Ujiri believes in. MacKenzie: I am a strong believer in the importance of chemistry. I'm also intrigued to see the strength of this team's chemistry as it faces a season with expectation from day one. Murphy: Not entirely. I believe it exists, and that it can propel a team like last year's Raptors, but its intangible nature can make it fleeting. Using it as a core tenet of team-building seems somewhat risky, but the fit with this team is also on-court, not just ethereal locker room fuzzies. Wong: I do. Chemistry is viewed as a dirty word, especially with advanced stats ruling the field of basketball analysis. But the core of this team is relatively young, and showed enough last season to warrant another year (at least) to see just exactly what the ceiling of this roster is. How do you feel about the contract extension Ujiri gave to head coach Dwane Casey? Koreen: It's fine. I think it might be in Casey's best interest to be a little more flexible with the team's offensive pace. However, the players work hard for Casey, which is the most important thing. His level-headedness is good for what remains a young core. MacKenzie: It was deserved. It's a great contract for the Raptors considering what former players-turned-first-year coaches (Steve Kerr, Derek Fisher) have been agreeing to. Murphy: He earned it. He's never been a bad coach, and while his offensive after-timeout work sometimes lacks creativity, he's generally been strong at the defensive end. If the team believes in the value of culture and chemistry, Casey's a major part of that. Wong: There's a sense of unfinished business with this team from last year, and I think the extension for Casey shows that Ujiri wants to find out how far this team can go with him at the helm. For that reason, I'm on board with it. 3. What do you expect from Jonas Valanciunas in his third year, the last season before the Raptors can offer him an extension? Koreen: Continued progression on both sides of the floor. I'm not sure Valanciunas will ever be a player you can dump the ball into and expect an easy bucket. I am much more interested in his development in the middle of the Raptors' defence, a huge factor for the ceiling of this team. MacKenzie: Continued improvement. Valanciunas has gotten stronger and appears more confident than ever. Desire and work ethic have never been issues with him. It's been getting him comfortable with the NBA game. Murphy: Valanciunas' numbers are due to rise, but the steps he can take may not show up in the box score. He's flashed better vision on the offensive end and appears to have made strides as a back-end rim protector, both of which are just as important as another basket or two on the stat line. Wong: The one thing I'd like to find out this season is a definitive answer to the question: What is the one thing Valanciunas can do to really impact the game at all times? Is it his defence? Is it a low post game that can be relied on in the fourth quarter? Or an improving perimeter game? 4. Will Kyle Lowry be the same player that he was last year before he got his big pay day? Koreen: Yes. I do not think Lowry is particularly motivated by money. Rather, he craves trust and respect, both of which the Raptors gave him (by giving him money). He will look to justify their faith. Only an injury, following the busiest year of his career, is a big concern. MacKenzie: There's never any way to guarantee that any player will return to last season's form, but the goal is to fill your roster with guys who will do everything in their power to do so. Lowry will. He's playing to win, not just get paid. Murphy: The same player, descriptively, yes. Statistically, he'll probably take a slight step backwards based on regression and, hopefully, fewer minutes. The team's leader, a two-for-one, three-nailing, end-of-game game creator? That stuff stays. Wong: I think so. The contract year thing always felt like the SI cover jinx to me: We pick and choose when it fits the narrative. Plus, the very fact that there are people out there saying that Lowry will fall off after a big pay day means he'll have a chip on his shoulder to prove them wrong. 5. Will any Raptors make the All-Star Game this year? How about any of the all-NBA teams? Koreen: Lowry and DeMar DeRozan will both be at MSG. Neither of them will make the all-NBA teams. Those, inevitably, will be dominated by players from out West. MacKenzie: One of Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan will be in NY/BK for the All-Star Game. Perhaps both. Murphy: I think DeRozan probably cracks the all-star team again, as it seems easier once a player already has all-star on his résumé. As a 20-plus point scorer, possibly even a 20-5-5 guy, the case will be easy to make. Lowry's slight minutes decline costs him a spot in a healthier East field, but he earns all-NBA third team by year's end. Wong: A team has to be really good to send multiple players to the All-Star Game. While DeRozan will probably put up similar numbers as last year, I'm guessing there will be a course correction this year and Kyle Lowry will get the nod after last year's snub. I'd give an outside chance for either Lowry or DeRozan to make the all-NBA third team, although I wouldn't bet on it legally. 6. Will Tim Leiweke's departure from MLSE make any tangible difference to the team? Koreen: Two things are worth watching: the Raptors' willingness to spend over the tax in the future, as Leiweke promised, and Drake's future involvement. We will not be able to draw any conclusions this season. MacKenzie: After Tim Leiweke set the course, Masai Ujiri will keep them on path. I have no concerns on that front. Murphy: Nope. He built the relationship with Drake, he landed a competent front office head in Ujiri, he helped secure the 2016 All-Star Game, and he's directing the re-brand. What else was he going to do, anyway? Wong: The team is relatively set at least to start the season, and unlikely to make any major, franchise-altering moves in-season. So in the short term: no. I'm (blindly) optimistic Leiweke's replacement can build a relationship with Ujiri and shield him from fighting any boardroom battles with the MLSE folks. 7. Who will be the most pleasant surprise on this year's team? Koreen: Lou Williams. About 20 months removed from knee surgery, Williams will start to resemble the Sweet Lou of old, getting the Raptors out of offensive ruts. MacKenzie: I'd say Lou Williams for the excitement factor, but James Johnson because he addresses a team need and is already familiar with the system. Murphy: Terrence Ross is going to take a minor step forward statistically and a major one defensively. Maybe that's wishful thinking given how important he is to the team's ultimate ceiling. Wong: Williams. I've been impressed with what I've seen in the pre-season and having an additional scoring option in the fourth quarter will be huge for this team. 8. Who will be the biggest disappointment? Koreen: James Johnson. His role - stopper of bigger wing players - is more niche than most are expecting. It will be difficult to find him minutes on many evenings. That changes with a meaningful injury to Amir Johnson, Patrick Patterson or Terrence Ross. MacKenzie: Not so much a player, but a player's situation: seeing Landry Fields tweet Steve Nash with a #NervesAreCrazy hashtag didn't inspire confidence in the elbow that has bothered him over the past two years. Murphy: Stripes. Forced into spot-duty before he was ready last season, the return of The Raptor sees the ineffective Stripes become expendable by mid-season. Wong: Tyler Hansbrough, because the expectation he set with his first pre-season game. I'm legitimately expecting a corner three once a game. It's not going to end well. 9. Drake Night 2: Boom or bust? Koreen: Boom. That Drake is a triple threat. They should give him Bon Jovi's banner. Or just set Bon Jovi's banner ablaze. Can we just make Drake Night 2 a bonfire? Seems safe. MacKenzie: During the post-season, lint-rollers with an OVO logo were highly coveted items. Drake Night 2/anything/everything Drake-related is a boom. Murphy: Boom, so long as he co-ordinates the timing with the release of Views From The 6. Wong: Boom. But on the assumption that there's a guest appearance from Nicki Minaj, even nicer T-shirts handed out this season, and most important of all, Drake in a customized BRUNOVOXO CABOCLO sweater. 10. What will the Raptors' record be, where will they finish in the Eastern Conference standings and how far will they advance in the playoffs (if you think they will make it)? Koreen: 44-38, fourth in the Eastern Conference and another Atlantic Division banner. They will lose to Washington in the first round, though. I'm fun at parties. MacKenzie: 50-32, good for third in Eastern Conference. Playoffs: not sure my brain knows how to predict playoff finishes since it's still getting used to a team making the playoffs, but farther than the first round. Murphy: 47-35. Third, possibly fourth, in the East. Second round of the playoffs. It's a win less than last season, factoring in regression from everything going right in 2013-14 and some positive development and added depth. The 50-win talk may be a little premature. Wong: 49-33. Win the Atlantic Division, finish with the third seed and make it to the second round of the playoffs.
