With the help of one Sir Mix-A-Lot sample and lots and lots of twerking, Nicki Minaj stole the buzz from right under Taylor Swift's nose.
For her latest single, 'Anaconda,' the Queens rapper built an entire song around Mix-A-Lot's snake-based male genitalia metaphor, and recorded a suitably callipygian video to match. Now, Mix-A-Lot himself is speaking out, and - no surprise - he's honored by the results.
As the famously butt-loving rapper admitted on Twitter, he was so captivated by Minaj's music video that he watched it more than three dozen times. For the, uh, choreography, we're sure.

Of course, we should have expected this level of candor from Mix-A-Lot: As the rapper said himself, he cannot lie.
But not everyone is as enamored of Minaj's scandalous song, which she is expected to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. The lyrics will likely be cleaned up or bleeped out - there are F-bombs and some uses of the N-word - and the Parents Television Council is attempting a preemptive strike on the live show.
The non-profit watchdog group is asking MTV to label the live telecast with a TV-MA rating to reflect any sexually-charged content in the vein of Miley Cyrus's raunchy performance last year.
'While last year's Miley Cyrus/ Robin Thicke performance garnered most of the headlines after the fact, the sexually charged and otherwise inappropriate content of the show was not limited to them,' PTC President Tim Winter said in a statement. 'Even more troubling was the fact that MTV still applied a TV-14 rating to the program, despite other adult-oriented performances and advertising messages. Such a rating was simply unacceptable to the families who depend on the television ratings system to be applied accurately and to the millions of families whose children are marketed to by MTV. The 2013 VMAs were a public relations kerfuffle for your network that I feel certain you will not wish to repeat.'
