It's not officially recognized by the federal government or most workplaces, but May 4 marks 'Star Wars' Day, a holiday celebrated by fans of George Lucas' epic science-fiction franchise.
Around the world fans donned Darth Vader, Chewbacca, and Princess Leia costumes to celebrate the occasion.
The semi-official holiday also coincides with the recent announcement of the 'Star Wars: Episode VII' cast that will include Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford, from the original franchise, along with Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow.
