David Cameron tonight led attacks against 'barbaric' ISIS terrorists after they posted a video claiming to show the beheading of British aid worker Alan Henning.
The militant group posted a video online thought to show British militant known as Jihadi John killing the 47-year-old hostage.
Shortly before he was killed, Mr Henning, from Salford, said he was paying the price for the decision by MPs to attack ISIS through a series of airstrikes.
Speaking tonight, Mr Cameron said: 'The brutal murder of Alan Henning by Isil shows just how barbaric and repulsive these terrorists are.

'My thoughts and prayers tonight are with Alan's wife Barbara, their children and all those who loved him.
Alan had gone to Syria to help get aid to people of all faiths in their hour of need. The fact that he was taken hostage when trying to help others and now murdered demonstrates that there are no limits to the depravity of these Isil terrorists.

The brutal killing was also condemned by British Muslims who called it a 'despicable and offensive act' which showed 'no regard for Islam'.
Imams and other influential figures had previously joined forces to appeal to the terrorists to release the aid worker.
Dr Shuja Shafi, Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain, said: 'This reported murder is a despicable and offensive act, coming as it does on the eve of the Muslim festival of Eid Al-Adha.

'Alan was a friend of Muslims, and he will be mourned by Muslims.

'In this period of Hajj and this festival of Eid, Muslims remember the mercy of God and the emphasis God places on human life.

Respect Party MP George Galloway described the killing as 'a depraved Satanic act committed by devils in human form'.
He wrote on Twitter: 'It is a desecration of all that is holy.'
Tory MP Mark Pritchard said: 'If ISIS think the British people will be cowed they are gravely mistaken. For every act of brutality they birth greater national resilience.'
And Labour's Fiona Mactaggart - who did not vote in last week's Commons decision to join US-led air strikes against IS positions in Iraq - said the murder made her question her decision.

The dad-of-two travelled to Syria as an aid worker to help victims of the civil war and was captured by IS half an hour after entering the country.
The 47-year-old taxi driver was kidnapped on Boxing Day and paraded in a video after the terror cell murdered fellow Briton David Haines.
