The ugly split between actor Stephen Collins and his ex-wife, Faye Grant, is only getting uglier.
On Tuesday, audio files purporting to be Collins confessing to having had inappropriate sexual conduct with underage girls, were leaked to the media.
Now, lawyers for Collins are accusing Grant of releasing the tapes, which she had secretly recorded during a 2012 therapy session, because she wanted more money from their divorce settlement than he was willing to give.
'Over the course of my representation of Stephen in the divorce case, Faye has repeatedly threatened to give this audiotape to the media unless Stephen agreed to pay her millions of dollars more than that to which she was legally entitled,' Collins's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan, told TMZ Tuesday.
(Grant has denied any involvement in the leak of the tapes, saying she had merely turned them over to authorities in connection with a 2012 investigation into her husband's actions: 'I had no involvement whatsoever with the release of the tape to the media.')
So just how much money does Collins, 67, have - and how much of it was Grant seeking?
According to legal documents filed in October 2013, in which Grant requested monthly spousal support from Collins, it's actually quite a lot - and it came not only from Collins's acting jobs, but also a trust and inheritance.
'Throughout most of our marriage, Stephen typically earned around $1 to $3 million per year,' Grant said in the request. 'The following are some of his television credits and what he was paid in the past year.'
* 10 episodes of Revolution, guaranteed pay at $40,000 per episode.* Six episodes of Devious Maids for a total of $64,937.* One episode of Scandal for $7,682.
And according to Grant, those were in addition to the residuals and royalties Collins received for reruns of 7th Heaven, between January and September 2013, totaling $338,717.
Grant, herself an actress, also stated that she had initially been the breadwinner in the family in the early '80s but hadn't been able to find work for the past three years.
'I am 56 years old,' she says. 'As a typical woman my age in the entertainment industry, it has been very difficult for me to find roles although I have searched for work and gone to auditions.'
She also talked about how she gave up her acting career in order to care for their only child, daughter Kate Collins, now 25. 'I became a full time parent and significantly reduced my workload. Stephen was away most of the time working and I felt that our daughter needed at least one parent around to raise her, not just a nanny.'
She went on to claim that they have two Brentwood properties, valued at about $2.7 million each, and that she estimates Collins's monthly income at roughly $44,000 a month. In addition, the two have $6-7 million in bank and retirement accounts, which Grant says should be considered community property.
'Stephen has been completely resistant to my attempts to resolve the above issues amicably,' Grant said in the documents. 'I have therefore had no choice but to proceed with litigating these issues in order to obtain relief and protect my right to spousal support.'
