Orange is the New Black just returned for season two with 13 all-new episodes. So fans freaked out when news spread that the show had been abruptly canceled for season three.

Fans of the show took their concern to Twitter and sounded off on the very mean hoax.

Have no fear, OITNB fans. The show's official Twitter page confirmed that the rumor was NOT true and just a cruel hoax.

After Netflix's monster hit returned for season two, everyone was over the moon when it was announced OITNB would return for another season.

However, Empire News reported that Orange is the New Black had been 'permanently cancelled' and cited CEO Reed Hastings as a source.

'We regret to inform Netflix members that Orange is the New Black has been permanently cancelled,' the post read.'Also, starting September 1st, 2014, past episodes will no longer be available for streaming on Netflix.'

Thankfully, Empire News is just a satirical website and took advantage of very loyal fans of the show.
