Two executives have been removed and a new face has been hired as the Toronto Maple Leafs restructure more of their front office, following a disappointing year in which they missed the playoffs.
On Tuesday, the team announced Dave Poulin, vice president of hockey operations, and Claude Loiselle, assistant general manager, were no longer with the organization. The announcement comes three months after Toronto hired Brendan Shanahan as president and alternate governor.
The team has hired Kyle Dubas, the general manager of the Ontario Hockey League's Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, as assistant general manager. He will work with Dave Nonis, who has survived the front office purge.

'Kyle is a young executive that has made a strong name for himself in hockey with a progressive style, work ethic and maturation beyond his years,' Shanahan said in a team-issued news release. 'He has a fresh approach that we feel will benefit our club for years to come.'
Dubas, 28, also has experience as an agent.
'The chance to work for the Toronto Maple Leafs is like a dream come true,' he said in the release.
'I would like to thank Dave Poulin and Claude Loiselle for their tireless dedication during their time with the Toronto Maple Leafs,' Shanahan said in the release. 'They are both very accomplished hockey executives who have helped put this team in a position to take the next step.'

Kyle Dubas and his staff drafted and developed players/systems based on metrics and maintaining puck possession. This is a really good hire.

Kyle Dubas worked as a hockey operations assistant for the Greyhounds as a 14 year old. He scouted for them while he went to college.
