SAGINAW, Mich. - A man's body has been found in an SUV matching the description of one belonging to a missing minor league hockey player.
Terry Trafford reportedly last was seen about 9:30 a.m. on March 3 at the Dow Event Center, the home arena for the Saginaw Spirit.
State police Lt. Brian Cole tells The Saginaw News that the body and green GMC Sierra were found Tuesday afternoon in the parking lot of a Walmart store in Saginaw County's Saginaw Township.
He says the dead man's identity was not confirmed.
The Associated Press left a message for Cole on Tuesday evening.
Cole told AP earlier that the 20-year-old Toronto native was considered a 'voluntary missing person.'
Trafford had been disciplined by his team shortly before he disappeared.
Saginaw Spirit President Craig Goslin told The Saginaw News on Tuesday that centre Terry Trafford was sent home 'for a violation of rules.' Goslin says Trafford wasn't permanently cut from the team, but would 'have to change his behaviour and make some adjustments.'
