James Franco hosted Saturday Night Live this week, and while the evening didn't include any experimental theater or threats from North Korean dictators, it did feature a ton of great material and Nicki Minaj pulling out Kim Kardashian and Beyoncé impressions. So let's jump right in.
You know there was absolutely no way Franco was going to make it through an entire episode of SNL without including Seth Rogen somewhere, and it didn't take long: The pair brought their easygoing, well-honed chemistry to bear on a bit mocking the leaks at Sony this past week.
Similarly, it was extremely unlikely SNL was going to let Peter Pan Live! make it through the week unscathed. They poked fun at casting ('Yes, you heard me,' Cecily Strong says as Peter, 'I'm a boy - the most gorgeous, feminine boy with shiny bright eyes and feminine features!'), brought on Aidy Bryant as Tonkerbell and gave Franco an opportunity to do his best Christopher Walken impression.
Come to think of it, this past week provided SNL with some of the biggest, juiciest targets in recent memory: Here's their take on the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which, depending on your personal tolerance for nostalgia, will either make you laugh or cry.
Okay, hold everything: Who knew Nicki Minaj had such great comedic chops? Her 'Weekend Update' segment saw her pull out an impression of Kim Kardashian, who explained the real context behind her Paper mag shoot ...
... and then took on a Beyoncé impression during another skit. (Though we have to say Sasheer Zamata's Rihanna was the show-stealing high point. See also, the return of Kate McKinnon's Justin Bieber.)
