Former Montreal Canadiens player Jean Béliveau has died, according to the Canadiens organization.
The Canadiens' official Twitter account sent a message out late Tuesday night, saying the former captain, who won 10 Stanley Cups with the organization, had passed away. He was 83-year-old.
'It is with a great deal of sadness that the Canadiens organization learned tonight the passing of Jean Béliveau,' the tweet said.

Béliveau was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972. More to come
