FLORENCE Welch proves that even celebrated singers can murder songs.
The British star took to the stage - minus The Machine - for a surprise performance with London-based party band Sourberry.
She whipped the small private crowd - and herself - into a frenzy as she bellowed over the group's cover of Daft Punk's Get Lucky.
To describe her as pitchy would be to her too much credit - the carrot-mopped star produced a sound that was half woman-in-distress and half cat-being-strangled.
Not that she or the revellers seemed to adversely react to her wailing.
People screamed in delight as Florence frenetically jumped around the stage, seemingly fuelled by alcohol.
At one point, the 26-year-old downed a shot of tequila that she'd been carrying in her hand ever since arriving onstage.
Florence + The Machine have racked up huge sales with their first two albums, which both shot to No1 in the UK chart.
Just as well she doesn't sound like this on them...
