Bart Simpson's tribute to Marcia Wallace.
With just a handful of words, the iconic animated series The Simpsons has paid loving tribute to voice actress Marcia Wallace who died earlier this month from breast cancer.
Wallace, 70, had played Springfield Elementary's fourth grade teacher Mrs Edna Krabappel for 23 years.
In a rare departure, this week's episode of the series opened with Bart Simpson writing the words "We'll really miss you Mrs. K." on his classroom chalkboard.

For more than two decades the show has opened with a shot of Bart Simpson writing lines as punishment on the board. The text has always begun with "I will not ...".
The episode concluded with a still image of Mrs Krabappel, captioned: "In loving memory of Marcia Wallace."
Mrs Krabappel was best known for her catchphrase "Ha!". She was also a noted chain-smoker.
She held a master's degree from Bryn Mawr College, and had notable affairs with school principal Seymour Skinner, tavern proprietor Moe Szyslak and Ned Flanders.
The show's executive producer Al Jean confirmed that the character would be retired and not recast.
