Last month their five-year romance drove into the pits and pals say they have both taken the break-up badly
Missing Nicole: Lewis tweeted this picture of himself alone in his studio
Lovesick Lewis Hamilton is clearly struggling to cope with his split from Nicole Scherzinger.
The Formula One driver, 28, has publicly poured his heart out to let the world - and Nicole - know how he feels.
Writing on Twitter late on Friday night, he said: "If you've found that special someone, don't EVER let them go no matter what!! Nothing in this world is more important."
In another post he wrote: "My hideaway - pouring my heart into this track!!" with a picture of himself in his recording studio.
And as the former lovebirds haven't quite made their 21st century split final by unfollowing each other on Twitter, it's bound to pop up on Nicole's feed. Crafty.
Last month their five-year romance drove into the pits.
Dog: Roscoe
Now pals of the pair, who began dating after meeting at the MTV Awards in 2007, reveal that they have both taken the break-up badly. I'm told: "Lewis and Nicole feel very sad about splitting, as it's not what either of them wanted.
"They both thought that each other was 'the one', but sadly it's their hectic schedules keeping them apart.
"Nicole's heartbroken, but she's keeping herself busy with her X Factor duties. Lewis is focusing on work too, and has his F1 commitments to concentrate on, but when he has down-time, all he can think of is Nicole. He's the kind of guy who is not embarrassed to wear his heart on his sleeve.
"He's also been posting pictures of his bulldog Roscoe and he knows how much Nicole will miss the pooch."
Split: Nicole
The pair have started to make sweet music once more, but this time it's in the studio - and in separate locations.
The source said: "Lewis loves to make music, he's using the studio as his sanctuary. Nicole is also back in the studio, working with X Factor winner James Arthur."
Earlier this week Nicole, 35, admitted she was lonely without Lewis while the F1 star admitted his world had been turned upside down.
The couple first split in 2010 before reuniting a few months later. Weeks before their break-up Lewis spoke of his plans to propose.
Come on guys, can't you get the relationship into gear once more?
