Harry Potter author JK Rowling has revealed she's is "very angry" after it was revealed that a top law firm was behind the unmasking of the author, who wrote her latest novel The Cuckoo's Calling under a pseudonym of Robert Galbraith.
Sales of Rowling's new novel have sky rocketed since the news broke over the weekend that the Harry Potter author was the writer behind the book, penned under the name Robert Galbraith. The novel, which tells the tale of a detective investigating the death of a model who has fallen from a balcony, enjoyed excellent reviews upon it's release in April but relatively slow sales, in comparison to the phenomenal success of the Harry Potter series.
Despite the sales hike which saw her book leap from just 1,500 sales to being an Amazon top seller , the author has revealed that she was angry by her unmasking, with the source revealed today to be one of her law firm's bosses.
Chris Gossage, a partner at law firm Russells, confessed today to accidentally leaking the news to his wife's best friend, who reportedly promptly took to her Twitter account to spill the secret. Her tweets were subsequently picked up by editors at the Sunday Times.

Rowling told the Associated Press of the leak: "Only a tiny number of people knew my pseudonym and it has not been pleasant to wonder for days how a woman whom I had never heard of prior to Sunday night could have found out something that many of my oldest friends did not know.
"To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. I had assumed that I could expect total confidentiality from Russells, a reputable professional firm, and I feel very angry that my trust turned out to be misplaced."
There had been speculation leaking the name was part of a publicity campaign, with rumours heightening after the massive sales increase.
However Russells said in a statement: "We can confirm that this leak was not part of any marketing plan and that neither JK Rowling, her agent nor publishers were in any way involved."
