Hugh Jackman has said that he is not yet willing to give up the role of Wolverine.
Jackman has played the clawed mutant in the original X-Men films, made a cameo in X-Men: First Class and revived the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and the new The Wolverine.
Jackman shared his thoughts with on playing Wolverine for the sixth time on the big screen in the latest Marvel adaptation.
"I had a lot of practice at [playing Wolverine]," he joked. "I think the comic book has been around for about 50 years now - around 50. So, that's for a reason. It's not just because he's cool, or because he's a badass."
Jackman further explained: "There's complexity [to Wolverine]. It's interesting why people keep coming back to him and why people keep coming back to it... I'm not ready to give him up just yet. I love it and probably like him more than ever."
The Wolverine sees the mutant travelling to Japan and stripped of his powers as he takes on dangerous samurai warriors.
Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in next summer's X-Men: Days of Future Past, which will see him reunite with director Bryan Singer.
He has also expressed hopes of starring in a film that unites Marvel's X-Men and the Avengers in the future.
The Wolverine opens in the UK on July 25 and July 26 in the US. Watch a clip below:
